“If I EVER get out of this alive, let’s start a school or a camp.” This is what Uncle Max, one of the founders of Kennolyn Camps wrote, being in service during World War II. Said and done. The camp was founded in 1946 in the Santa Cruz Mountains and is committed to unplug kids from technology and lead them to adventures and self-discovery.
Being accredited by the American Camp Association, Kannolyn meets around 300 standards in safety, health, program design, and staff qualifications.
The camp is open to girls and boys entering 1-12th grades and offers 1 and 2-week sessions. A three-day intro camp is organized for first-time campers to make their home-away experience enjoyable and stress-free.
Cabins at Kennolyn “have all the comforts of home”. Two counselors and 6-8 campers live in each cabin, all of them being responsible for keeping their bunks clean.
Fun and learning go hand in hand at Camp Kennolyn. Among 40 activities campers can choose horseback riding, pool activities, archery, arts & crafts, ropes, and climbing. Additional instruction is provided for culinary arts, trapeze, equestrian, marine exploration should a camper wish to master a favorite activity. The evenings include all camp activities like campfire, a dance or a scavenger hunt.
