About our camp

Expect to leave you laptop and iPads at home. Deer Crossing is located on the shore of Loon Lake in California's El Dorado National Forest. There is no access roads and campers will trek to base camp. All campers come together to generate their own electricity, and pump their own water, so remote that food is delivered via a boat. Deer crossing does have the basic ammenities, and will appeal to an adventurous camper.

Camp programs & activities

Deer Crossing appeals to the young adventure seeker who enjoys outdoor living (with some basic comforts) some hands on activities include, sailing, windsurfing, backpacking, canoeing, hiking, orienteering, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and for those who want a slower pace we also offer arts and crafts, weaving, painting, clay modelling, cartooning, guitar, improv theatre, fishing, and campfire programs.
