About our camp
At Camp Wigwam boys learn the importance of participation, rather than strict competition. Campers are also given wide opportunities for choice to help them develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, and achieve their full potential. Since its foundation in 1910 up to this day, the leadership team at Wigwam has strived to maintain the dynamic culture of the camp by providing high quality supervision in both sports and arts programs.
Camp Wigwam is situated on the shores of Bear Lake, in Waterford, Maine, and welcomes campers who are 7 to 15 years old. Two options are offered – a five-week session and a seven-week session.
Bunk life is the central component of Wigwam experience. Each cabin houses only four boys and one counselor providing a unique relationship-building environment where strong friendships are born.
Camp programs & activities
A particular emphasis in Wigwam is put on tennis, golf and the arts. However, boys have myriad choices throughout the day. They can sail, play basketball and soccer, waterski, make something unique out of ceramics, go for hiking outside of the camp, take part in intercamp competitions, and experience much more.
