About our camp
Camp Timberlane states that “more than 80% of their campers return from the prior summer”. And yet, they are well-prepared for first-time campers as well to help them enjoy a 4- or 8-week session in a supportive and positive environment.
The staff is selected through a rigorous hiring process and receives specialized trainings to be able to supervise 160 boys who attend the camp each summer. 3-4 counselors live with campers (in a separate room but under the same roof). Housing 8-12 boys, each cabin has a bathroom, two showers and a toilet.
As the time for recharge comes, boys get together for three meals a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh fruit is available between the meals for additional energy. Homemade desserts and bread are most campers’ favorites.
Camp programs & activities
Trips at Timberlane provide hands-on lessons on how to cooperate in a team, appreciate and protect nature, take calculated risks and overcome challenges. Team Certified leaders have their well-deserved role in teaching these lessons. More than 40 trips, lasting from 3 to 12 days, are offered that include rock climbing, backpacking and canoeing.
For most part, boys choose their activities, and only a few are assigned by the camp staff. This approach helps to develop decision-making skills and teaches campers to be responsible for the choices they make. All of the traditional camp activities are available at Timberlane: waterfront, and land, adventure and creative arts.
